I would hope to continue the amazing work of the Colorado ENA. Being part of the Board the last two years has been an incredible experience. The growth of the Colorado ENA continues to be exciting an encouraging.
Personal background: currently HCA Division Speciality Educator for Emergency and Trauma, covering 6 Denver and 2 Wichita facilities, in addition to several freestanding emergency departments. Previous ED manager and director. BCEN item writer. TNCC and ENPC course director.

My journey with the Emergency Nurses Association began as an attendee at the annual international education conference hosted in Colorado in 2022. Since then, I have become actively involved in the organization, serving as Chair of the Education and Awards Committee, representing Colorado as a delegate on three occasions, and attending the ENA Leadership Conference twice. ENA has had a profound impact on both my professional development and personal growth. The opportunities for education, leadership, and connection within this organization have significantly shaped my practice and strengthened my commitment to emergency nursing. Over the past two years as a committee chair, I have developed leadership skills, collaborated with peers across the state, and contributed to initiatives that support and recognize emergency nurses. These experiences have reinforced my desire to further
serve and give back to the organization that has invested so much in me. I believe transitioning into a board position is a natural next step in my continued growth as both a bedside and professional nurse. I am eager to expand my contributions, support the mission of ENA, and help advance emergency nursing across Colorado.

My name is Kendra Harder, and I am seeking the Colorado ENA Member-at-Large Board of Directors position for 2027. I have been a registered nurse since 2016 and an emergency department nurse since 2017, progressing from nightshift staff nurse to dayshift charge nurse, and now serve as Nurse Supervisor of the Emergency Department, Inpatient Unit, and Outpatient Infusion Services at Middle Park Health – Granby Campus.
I am excited to deepen my involvement with Colorado ENA. In 2022, I attended the National ENA Conference when it was hosted in Colorado and became a Lifetime ENA member, drawn immediately to its values and mission. I became a Colorado ENA liaison for my ED in 2024, further expanding my engagement, and in 2025, I was honored to represent Colorado at ENA General Assembly.
I have joined both the Government Affairs Committee and the Quality, Safety, and Injury Prevention Committee, allowing me to attend Nurses Day at the Capitol and create a Sun Safety in the Mountains brochure. These experiences have strengthened my ability to advocate, educate, and collaborate—skills I will bring to the Member-at-Large role.
Working in the only critical access hospital system with three locations in the country, I understand how ENA position statements impact rural and critical access emergency nurses and can provide a passionate
bedside perspective. I am deeply committed to evidence-based practice and patient safety and strive to share this knowledge with colleagues. In this role, I would help translate ENA initiatives to members while gathering feedback to ensure their voices are represented.
As a liaison, I have promoted ENA membership within my department; as Member-at-Large, I would expand these efforts to reach ED nurses statewide and grow our chapter. Personally and professionally, I have grown significantly since joining ENA and want to share its impact. (Also, who doesn’t love hanging out with fellow trauma junkies?)

Since moving to Colorado and becoming involved with Colorado ENA, I have found a renewed drive and inspiration to contribute more to my community and the profession of emergency nursing. My time with Colorado ENA has been an incredibly rewarding period of growth, and it has opened my eyes to the many possibilities for how emergency nurses can positively impact both our patients and our communities. Serving as a Member at Large would allow me to take on a larger role within the organization, continue learning, and contribute more meaningfully to the work being done. I am grateful for the mentors, colleagues, and friends I have met through Colorado ENA, and I look forward to continuing to grow alongside such a dedicated and inspiring team.

I’ve spent my entire nursing career in emergency services, from stretcher-side to leadership and education. I currently serve as a Clinical Educator supporting multiple emergency departments across northern Colorado. My work focuses on building strong nurses and strong systems—through education, competency, and leadership development. My involvement with the Emergency Nurses Association—especially Colorado ENA—has been a huge part of my professional growth. I served as Colorado Treasurer from 2017–2020, as well as President, Membership Chair, and Media Chair. Those roles gave me a deep understanding of how our state council functions and what matters most to our members. I’ve also spent many years as a Colorado delegate, served on every committee and I remain passionate about representing our voices at the national level. At the national level, my work with the ENA Foundation has been especially meaningful. I’ve served as a Trustee and Chair of the Foundation, with a strong focus on scholarships, research, philanthropy and fundraising. I’ve seen firsthand how financial stewardship directly translates into opportunities for emergency nurses—whether that’s funding education, supporting research, or investing in future leaders. I’m applying for Treasurer because I genuinely enjoy this work and bring experience to the role. I understand the importance of transparency, accountability, and making thoughtful decisions about how we use our resources. My goal is to help ensure COENA remains financially strong while continuing to invest in the programs and opportunities that matter most to our members.
