Awards and Scholarships

The purpose of the Awards and Scholarships Committee is to recognize and support excellence in emergency nursing throughout Colorado by coordinating meaningful opportunities to celebrate the contributions, achievements, and professional growth of ENA members. This committee is responsible for promoting and managing the nomination and selection process for annual state-level awards and scholarships, ensuring transparency, equity, and alignment with the mission and values of Colorado ENA. 

To inspire engagement, advance professional development, and honor those who exemplify the highest standards of emergency nursing practice, leadership, and advocacy.   

1. Academic Scholarship Program: Administer academic scholarships for nursing students at various educational levels, with a maximum of $2,000 per recipient. 
2. Colorado Nurse Awards Management: Oversee the awards process, from category development to nominations and final selections, culminating in an awards ceremony during the annual conference. 

• Promote the scholarship program to nursing students, administer the application and selection process, and notify and recognize recipients.  
• Develop award categories, manage the nomination process, facilitate a fair selection of awardees, and host an awards ceremony to celebrate nursing excellence at the annual conference. 

The Committee has expanded our scholarship program, providing greater financial support to nursing students at various educational levels. 

Additionally, we’ve seen an increase in award nominations and recognition of outstanding Colorado emergency nurses, fostering a culture of excellence and appreciation within our community.
