Michael has been the ED educator at GS for 1 year. When he took the position there was no manager or director. Michael has led this team by being the voice of the ED to leadership, while onboarding and orienting over 60 new RNs, ED Techs, Unit clerks and interim leaders. He has accomplished, in the last few months, the first skills fair in 5 years, with over 40 participants, 2 mock trauma codes ( pediatric & OB) for education and training the staff on Epic trauma documentation. He is and has been the educator/leader this ED team depends on. We are all very thankful for Michael!

He has taught classes to many people in the Denver Metro area for over 20 years. He is the best instructor I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He is entertaining and memorable. Every person says that they love classes with Brad and come to Platte Valley specifically to take his classes. He is knowledgeable and creative in his teaching. His over 30 years of ED nursing experience has given him many stories to be able to share to make people understand and remember the education that he is teaching. He is an ENA member and Faculty for ENPC and TNCC. I highly recommend him for this award.
I nominate Brad Lehmann for the Nursing Education Award. Brad has been a dedicated nurse for over 30 years and is the nursing educator for all of Platte Valley. He encourages growth and personal development by promoting the clinical ladder to our nurses and teaches for all certifications, new hire orientations as well as ongoing education at annual skills fair, YEAR Day and so much more. Brad teaches first by example, by modeling professionalism and leadership. He is outgoing and lighthearted. Students find his courses interesting and funny, while providing great information. Brad is able to connect and communicate with an approach that fosters creativity, leadership and growth. He strives to teach others and help them to achieve their goals. Brad is not only an amazing leader, but a kind and compassionate individual. He goes above and beyond in his efforts at work and his community. I nominate Brad Lehmann for the Nursing Education Award.
